Ayurveda translates from sanskrit as “the knowledge of life”, it is an indigenous wisdom tradition stemming from India that seeks to harmonise the physical body, mind, senses and soul.
According to Ayurveda there are three energy forces called doshas that can be observed in all matters of life; throughout the day, seasonally and within our own bodies. Through practices that invite a balance of these energies, Ayurveda encourages us to live life with an understanding of the fluctuations that happen both externally and internally and how we are intimately intertwined with the natural world.
During this 90 minute workshop we will explore the energy of pitta dosha and it’s connection to the summer season. The session looks at ways to support our own pitta energy and will invite us to become more in tune with ourselves, to always be curious and serves as a reminder of the importance of simple everyday self care.
We will work with an array of yogic practices, breathwork, mindful rituals, seasonal recipes and a soothing sound meditation that will encourage us to cool down and stay balanced through summer.
